January Leadership Corner

By Margaret Pendo

Hello Hornets, and happy new year! We had a great month of December with the Winter Ball and Winter Assembly. That was followed by a peaceful and rest-filled winter break. Now we are back and ready to have a great year.

The talent show is coming up and if you would like to be a part of it, auditions are soon, so go to the dance studio from 3-5:30 p.m. on Jan. 12-13.

The Junior Class is having an “end of finals” picnic right after school. There will be a variety of delicious foods and its only $5 to attend. The juniors will also host an e-waste event on Jan. 31 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Emma Hood Swim Center, so bring your old electronics to recycle that day.

If you are in a club, you have the chance to win “club of the month” which will be announced at the end of each month on the publicity board.

Another cool way to show your Hornet pride is at our upcoming sporting events. This Friday is our basketball Island Bowl at Encinal High School.  Make sure to wear your Hornet gear and bring your friends.

Finally, there is an upcoming Blood Drive on Jan. 30.  If you want to donate sign up in the main hall. Have a great month, Hornets!
