“[Dance] goes with the whole freedom of expression type of thing. It is another way of expressing yourself, I think it is very freeing. You get to show your unique side. It is very fun and I think it is just a beautiful way to tell a story or an emotion through just body movement, you don’t have to speak. Public speaking is totally not my thing. Put me in front of a crowd, I’ll dance. But tell me to give a speech or something, it’s not happening. I started dancing freshman year [and] I remember walking into that dance classroom and being like ‘Oh, I don’t know what I am doing here, but might as well give it a try.’ I didn’t think it would be such an important aspect of my life today, but it has become one of my biggest passions. It has definitely taught me that hard work pays off and that I could definitely improve, get better, it’s very inspiring.”
